Check out the song on my playlist by Boards Of Canada.  It is some amazing music. 

They are brothers from Scotland who were greatly inspired by the old movies by the Film Board Of Canada.  This song specifically I can hear traces of the old documentaries I used to watch back when I was a kid.

Movies of science, culture and history.  They went through a period in the 70s and 80s where their music had this weird ambient feel to it.  The way the pads flow in Boards of Canada's stuff is that sound. 

These guys are great.
